ABOUT US

Hi, I’m Haley!

I had the sweetest little boy in 2023, and we named him Scout. He was a breastfed baby!

Through my breastfeeding journey, I learned of breast milk rings. And being a teacher, I went down a research-rabbit-hole to find me one.

What I found was sticker shock, because what I wanted cost $600! That’s a whole lot of money on a teacher’s salary.

Truthfully, I talked myself out of the purchase multiple times. Every time looking into DIY options and searching websites for cheaper rings.

There were lots of plated-gold ring options, but I didn’t want a plated ring, because I had ordered one a few months back and the rose-gold plating wore off in 3 weeks. Then I ordered a baby name ring, and I’m now the proud owner of ring that reads “Scat”, not Scout, LOL!

After all the research, I finally just decided a keepsake of my breastfeeding journey was worth the money. I narrowed down my search and had the solid gold ring in my cart.

At that very moment, I had a plumber in my garage looking at my hot water tank. I was just about to checkout when he knocked on the door. “You’re going to need a new hot water tank.” Not at all what I was expecting to hear. I thought my pilot light had just gone out, as this happened before and it was a quick fix.

Back to my computer, I still had my cart opened and I was ready to checkout, but I opened another tab and started pricing hot water tanks.

Yep, $600! Literally, the cost to buy a little piece of jewelry, no matter how sentimental, was the exact same cost for us to have hot water.

I just couldn’t! When I had already talked myself out of the purchase so many times. I couldn’t justify spending the money when it was clearly needed somewhere else.

I took this as a sign to go DIY and just make the dang thing. Through my research, I’d already considered this option, but there were tons of companies and options for preserving powders. But what was in the powder?

When you’re breastfeeding you start worrying about everything that goes in your body and on your skin. It took me a long time to find a recipe for a persevering powder and when I did it consisted of literally a dozen different chemicals, many of them being toxic and labeled as poisonous if not handled carefully, warnings of not breathing in the dust, and dangerous skin absorption.

Nope, not with a baby in my house! I decided to go all college chem lab on my kitchen, and figure it out myself. What I created was an all-natural process to preserve breast milk.

I wanted to know what I was cooking in my house and keeping the process safe around Scout was the most important thing.

It took some trial and error, but I was able to create a preserving powder and system that worked for me!

Now I’m preserving breast milk for other mamas as a passion-project.

All the work is done by myself and other mamas. We use all natural products to preserve your milk in a 5-day process. Then set your milk stone in 925 sterling silver. It’s not gold, but it’s simple, classic, and won’t break the bank.

Everything is carefully labeled and tracked to ensure your milk comes back home to mama! I wouldn’t want anything less for myself. I created my jewelry the same way, and I’d love to do the same for you!
